This hostel exceeded my expectations in every way. the atmosphere was cozy and felt like a home away from home. the owner, Bernie, was incredibly helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. the outdoor patio was a great spot to relax and meet other travelers. I also appreciated the convenient location, only a short drive from the town with great restaurants and amenities.
The preference for cash as the main method of payment. It would have been helpful to know in advance so I could have come prepared and avoided the high local ATM fees.

I gotta say, my stay at this place was worth every penny. The room was super comfy and spacious, and the property had so much room to chill out without feeling crowded. The staff, Bernie, Amanda, and the others, were all so friendly and always checked in to make sure we were doing okay. And the location? Perfect! Right across from Rocky's and just a short distance to Sunset Beach and Pipeline. Plus, they had a whole garage filled with beach gear for us to use, like surfboards and scuba gear. Can't ask for more!
The hotel breakfast menu could use a little improvement, maybe some more variety or options. But don't worry, it won't ruin your overall experience at this place.

We had an amazing experience at the hotel. The atmosphere was relaxed and positive, allowing us to meet interesting people from different parts of the world. The host, Bernie, was exceptional. He had extensive knowledge of the island and especially the North Shore, making him an excellent guide for surfers. The hotel's location was great, tucked away from the highway noise but only a two-minute walk from the beach. There was also a nearby take-away place and a local bus stop, allowing for convenient travel to shopping areas. Bernie and his staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience.
Nothing, everything was great.

I was pleasantly surprised by the value I got for my money at this low-budget place. The room felt like a cozy home, with beautiful furnishings and decor. The location was perfect, being across the street from Rocky Point and close to other surf spots. Bernie, the owner, was incredibly accommodating and even met me at the bus stop when I arrived late at night. I felt well taken care of and would love to return someday.
The morning meal could have been better with some food options provided.

Our stay at Kalani Hawaii Private Lodging was an absolute dream. The secluded feel of the property was perfect, and yet we were just a minute walk away from Sunset Beach. We were blown away by the beautiful grounds, which felt like a botanical garden. The communal lounge spaces were plentiful, and we loved being practically on the beach. Bernie and Maria were incredible hosts, with Bernie offering fantastic suggestions for activities and Maria taking great care of us. The only minor challenge was finding the property when we first arrived, but even that added to the charm. I highly recommend this lodging for a truly unforgettable experience.

The location of this lodging was absolutely breathtaking. Nestled in the quiet Northern peninsula, the surroundings were serene and beautiful. The host, Bernie, was incredibly kind, funny, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. His wealth of knowledge about surfing and the island made our stay even more enjoyable.
The only downside was that the wifi signal was a bit weak at times, but considering the rural area, this was to be expected.
